Does it always have to be a fight? Or can fighting be fun?

Feisty Tiger Striped Nails Ready to Claw Their Way Up!

It's 5:30 AM on a Monday morning and I'm determined to start this week off on a good foot! Lately it seems like everything is a battle and I'm ready for some smoother transitions which is why I'm heading to Hot Yoga at 6:30 AM. But as I sit here, sipping a cup of tea reviewing the week gone by, I realize it was pretty extraordinary and maybe extraordinary is worth the fight.

Cover Stories Are Awesome...... Click to Read It
On Monday, I sprinted about campus with my Daily Bruin cover story talking about the new program I am running to inspiring and aspiring undergraduates. Being a 'Startup CEO' of a new business within a business with four months to launch is awesome but it's definitely an uphill endeavor. Several hundred coeds heard my chipper, impassioned and honest pitch about why they are the architects of their own destiny. I wandered the hallowed halls of academia like a lost Freshman trying desperately to find class before it started.

Tuesday, we shot the first episode of a new series I am producing with my friends at TV4 Entertainment Inc, called The Business of Inspiration (working title) with business innovator and One Kings Lane founder Susan Feldman and the founder of Zhena's Gypsy Tea, Zhena Muzyka. To be among entrepreneurs with impact was amazing, and then I realized.... I'm one of em!

Hard not to smile when you are inspired!

Wednesday I awoke well before the crack of day, attended 5:30 meditation and mass at Saint Monica's (lent for us Catholics), walked with a dear friend along the beach in deep sand, dashed about campus again visiting classes, meeting professors, held an info session for an excited group of EDGElings and then skipped back downstairs to my office to somewhat awkwardly appear on Huff Post Live to talk about the reason sex in healthy relationships is good for you. (No duh, but wow did I really go on air to talk about my sex life?)

Thursday and Friday were spent in a staff retreat at UCLA Anderson with an unbelievable amount of personal and professional reflection, battling to secure a location for another exciting event and ending with an escape to the beach with my best friend for a perfect sunset.

Back in a bikini... overdue

Saturday it was back to UCLA Anderson to tell aspiring EMBAs why getting my MBA was a brilliant decision and what they'd face if they too adventured down that road.

Wow, no wonder I was worn out on Sunday. Running, pushing, battling, fighting, climbing, inspiring, but I made it to dinner with my parents...

As I head out determined to make this week a better one, I realize last week was pretty impressive in its own right. Sure, it felt like I was fighting every step of the way to make things happen, but when you fight, sometimes you win. I think we can find a gentler way to fight and look for shorter paths to yes, but I'm willing to keep in the battle. That perhaps is what I shall find satisfaction in as I sweat mercilessly for the next hour.

Have a great Monday kids!
