Bandaids Ripping, Neruda Contemplating: Happy Valentine's Day

Just over two months ago I felt punched, witch slapped and most definitely treated pretty crappily by someone I spent almost a decade trying to love and someone else I sorta kinda thought was my friend. They are getting married on September 22, 2012 somewhere in Texas. I assume his next wedding will cost less than his first and I do hope it continues better than his first. I'll always admire the poetic irony that she wore white-ish/silver to our wedding and gave us a sterling silver Elsa Peretti Tiffany knife for our present. Cuts like a knife lady?!?! And yes, I did leave him first. OK  - god I hope that's enough being bitter...

This little blog, warning of Caution Curves Ahead is about the stuff that happens in life and the unexpected curves and bumps. My grumpy, my happy, my silly - is honest. I can't pretend, which is why I haven't written in a while I was just a bit too grumpy/confused/mad-as-hell.  I recently received my trademark on Caution Curves Ahead which reminded me that my road has only just begun. I was paralyzed these last few months when it came to writing and in the interim, I went to Vietnam, Mexico, and Ethiopia. Talk about perspective!!!

And now ... after sorting through the feelings of ouchness from the ex husband and that mean girl, trying to understand why I am totally super ignored by the last guy I kissed and going through time zones to meet kids who have nothing yet would be willing to give anything...... I'm ready to start again. I'm ready to approach this journey - with each curve, each caution and each hope ahead. I'm in.

So Happy Valentine's Day kids! Approach love with abandon - and know that when the bumps. curves, and rough roads present - you aren't alone. I'm cruising right along.

“I love you without knowing how, or when, or from where. I love you simply, without problems or pride: I love you in this way because I do not know any other way of loving but this, in which there is no I or you, so intimate that your hand upon my chest is my hand, so intimate that when I fall asleep your eyes close.”
